For Jon Gjesme the role as a conductor is the natural continuation of his musiscianship with 20 years of experience as a concertmaster and primarius in different chamber music groups. Conducting is for him like leading and listening in chamber music, both soloistic and accompanying. It is just in a bigger format. His searching to understand the composers visions and intentions combined with his own temperament and passion makes him an interesting and distinctive musiscian.
Jon is born in Norway and has been concertmaster in The Royal Danish Orchestra, The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and latest in Copenhagen Phil. He has been soloist with a number of the leading Nordic orchestras and Minnesota Orchestra.
